Critical Manners means different things to different riders. When I started the ride in San Francisco in December of 2006 I viewed it as a way to change Bay Area drivers attitudes about cyclists. The relationship between cyclist and driver was marked by antagonistic behavior on both sides and a complete lack of respect. I'd ridden in Critical Mass in the Bay Area. While the ride was fun I didn't feel like I was getting the message across that I really wanted to share.
